“NOTICE TO OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES”
WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE PRODUCTION OF AN ALL-NEW FULL-COLOR “DIGITAL TOUR” FEATURING OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES IN BOTH DIGITAL AND PRINTED FORMATS!
WHAT IS THIS PROJECT ALL ABOUT?
Our mission is to provide world-wide internet exposure featuring our local businesses on a digital platform via a unique artistic expression (full-color caricature rendering) along with roads, schools, churches, parks and historic sites specifically designed to capture the unique spirit and history of an area while educating the public of the importance of doing business locally.
WHY IS THIS PROJECT SO IMPORTANT?
Now, more than ever, we need to re-focus attention on our local businesses who support our infrastructure through jobs, taxes and overall economic activity as they compete with on-line shopping. It’s never been tougher for our local businesses. This project is all about them!
HOW WILL THIS HELP OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES GET MORE CUSTOMERS?
The best way to get more customers is to provide them a map to your front door! And that’s what we have done with the “Digital Tour” experiencing over 1,000,000 hits on our website so far! This project provides a great way to learn more about the owners of our local businesses and their histories. Our unique and fun-to-use creation has never been done before! We’ve proven through our SEO analysis that we have and will continue to get more people to shop locally and drive more traffic to our client’s websites, Facebook pages and most any other social mediums. Everyone loves the experience of taking the tours!
HOW DOES MY BUSINESS GET WEBSITE EXPOSURE?
That’s what makes this project unique. Today’s trend is a simpler, more user friendly and even a single page website packed with links and information on the Home page accessible from any device. That’s another reason why this concept has been so successful. Specific details and information with your own personal microsite showcasing your business is easily accessible with a simple click of the mouse. Take the tour and see for yourself!
WHAT DOES IT COST TO PARTICIPATE?
That’s the best news we love to share with our local businesses! Most would expect that with a custom designed single-page website (AKA Microsite) with ten links and a rendering of your business front in full color would cost at least $800 or more! Each “Digital Tour” is unique and with varying costs but our goal was to set the fee for a local business to join the tour at a level so that even the smallest business can afford to participate. Check with your local project coordinator for more details. Again, this includes your own custom designed microsite with your choice of content including a rendering of your business building. Also included will be links to Google maps/ Facebook/YouTube/Linked-In/Twitter, your website, your telephone number, email address and a narrative about your business.
WHO ARE THE PEOPLE BEHIND THIS PROJECT?
A.G. Crowe, a successful businessman for many decades while serving as a school board member and state legislator, started one of his first businesses in Slidell (St. Tammany Office Products) by sponsoring a caricature poster map with his friend and artist, Ron Barthet. The project was so successful that dozens of new projects featuring businesses from various towns and cities have since been produced.
A.G. served 8 years in the House of Representatives and 8 years in the Louisiana Senate leading the charge for lower taxes, upholding family values, job opportunities and educational initiatives. He is a native of New Orleans and the north shore and earned his business degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.
He has been an active member of the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce for over 35 years and has served as a board member and President of the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation. His community service also includes serving in leadership positions of the Boy Scouts of America, the Boys and Girls Club, Kiwanis, Lions, and is a two-time Paul Harris Rotarian.
A.G. is married to Linda who is a retired kindergarten teacher at Bonne Ecole in Slidell. They have 2 children and 7 grandchildren and reside in Pearl River, Louisiana.
“Over the past thirty years, Ron Barthet has drawn and published more than 50 maps of small towns, primarily downtown business districts and other specialty works of art illustrating the importance of hometown businesses and the people who run them. Each map features a hometown’s greatest treasure, its locally-owned and operated businesses.
Ron has also produced specialty maps for the annual ChefSoiree charity event, antiques shopping, recreational areas, and real estate and chamber of commerce magazines.
Ron worked as a newspaper reporter, photographer and editor for more than 26 years, also doing free lance work for magazines and radio stations. He is a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington for the past 48 years.”
